This book presents techniques in decorative painting that are essential for today’s decorative painters. It covers a vast range of subjects, offers inspiration and creative possibilities for this art, and abounds with illustrations and examples of Michel Nadaï’s painted works.
Part one of this volume goes over the basics of decorative painting ; using a unique approach, it introduces us to the profession and helps us become familiar with its demands.
Part two consists of techniques of painted imitations : imitation marble, wood graining and imitation of organic materials. The techniques presented in the book reflect both, a well established tradition and the constant wish to achieve even more realistic effects. The selected examples - twenty-five in total - consist of detailed step-by-step instructions, accompanied by photographs depicting the different stages of the work.
Part three of this volume takes us from trompe-l’œil to murals. Here again, the author provides us with clear, comprehensive and easy-to-follow instructions that are backed up by plenty of illustrations and photos.
